The Director General of RATEN, Ion Octavian Uţă, took part in an official meeting organized by the Romanian Embassy in Belgium on October 26 2022 in Brussels. The purpose of this meeting was the signing of a new collaboration agreement between RATEN and SCK CEN (Belgium) regarding new opportunities for the research and development of nuclear systems.
Given the rising interest for small modular reactors based on advanced heavy liquid metal technology (SMR-LFR) and the two institutions’ shared interest for this technology, updating the MOU was deemed necessary, in order to explicitly include this subject of interest.
Other officials who took part in this meeting was Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă, his Belgian counterpart, Alexander de Croo, Eric van Walle and Hamid Ait Abderrahim from SCK, Mitică Drăguşin from IFIN HH, who also signed a collaboration agreement with the Belgian institution, and Marin Constantin form RATEN ICN.
Director General of RATEN, Ducu Marian-Cătălin, takes part at online event "Canada-Romania Partnership in Nuclear Technologies" held between March 2-3 organizat de către Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI), ROMATOM, Energynomics, Nuclearelectrica și Ambasada Canadei în România. The event is aimed at showcasing the long-standing partnership between the Canada and Romania in the nuclear domain and at discussing the upcoming Romanian investment projects.
Director General of RATEN, Cristian GENTEA, takes part in the Final Conference of the PRO ALFRED project „ALFRED Research Infrastructure: Looking Ahead”, a hybrid event held between 22-23 October 2020 and hosted by RATEN ICN, in cooperation with the FALCON Consortium in the frame of the PRO ALFRED project financed by the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research. Other participants are representatives of the European Commission and international organizations in the nuclear field (Ansaldo Nucleare, ENEA, IAEA), representatives of national and local authorities and specialists from the FALCON consortium and the PRO ALFRED project.
Director General RATEN, Cristian GENTEA, is signing the Contract of the Project “ALFRED – Stage 1, support research infrastructure: ATHENA (pool type installation for thermohydraulic experiments and testing) and ChemLab (laboratory for lead chemistry)”, funded under the Competitiveness Operational Program, in the Major Research Infrastructures field, Call 488/1/1. The event is hosted at the headquarters of the Ministry of European Funds, in the presence of the Minister, Mr. Ioan Marcel BOLOŞ, on July, 6-th, 2020.
Director General RATEN, Cristian GENTEA, participates in the launch of the Second Stage of PROALFRED Project, PNCDIII, C1-ALFRED Competition, February, 12, 2020, at the headquarters of the Institute for Nuclear Research (RATEN ICN).
The Director General of RATEN, Cristian GENTEA, represented RATEN at the General Assembly of the members of the CNR-CME Association, February 6, 2020, on which occasion he was granted the Patent and the CNR-CME Medal, in appreciation for the special support for increasing the National Romanian Committee's prestige of the World Energy Council, at national and international level.
